I am Shaela Alam! I am currently finishing my degree in OST: Micropublishing and Hypermedia at Vanier College. I live in Montreal and would love to move in Los Angeles or Toronto for more job opportunities. After graduating, hopefully would want to work in an advertisement agency and later open my own business. I am a girl who is obsessed with shoes, bags and watch late night movies alone... My favorite pastime is to look up for new recipe and make them even if I am not a good cook.
For this , my goal was use a very contemporary look to represent white wine. First I designed a label that merged two images from Google and changed their textures and to give them new modern look. For the booklet, we were supplied with text and images and I used very light beige color and the wine icon for start of each new paragraph.
In this project, I did a newsletter for a specific theme I chose “food”. For food, I came up with articles that talks about the upcoming food events in Montreal and an interview with Chuck Huges. This newsletter also include dates and time of the events and hotels informations in Montreal
The goal for this project was to design a guide for new students at Vanier College and show where they could find places to eat. I designed all of this guide including, text, illustrations and textures and a map. Since it was for Vanier College, I was inspired to use the color red, white and black. I used utensils for my background, a plate with a red border to put my food combo and rolled sheet for the menu list.
Related to to the Wine project we had to also create a wine logo to put on a whine bottle with Illustrator
The goal of this project was to work in a team to design a series of four text book covers for the Insurance and Financial Services Program at Vanier College. My subject was Ethics and Professional Practice and to illustrate the idea of balance I used a photo of the cardinal points painted on a rock. For this series, we had to keep in mind that the four covers should be different from each other yet have a unity..
For this report, the aim was to design a booklet and website, I worked with my colleague for this project. Charity Water invest money to raise into making organizatons in order to build huge water projects. We were given the information and took pictures from the Charity Water website. We had the idea of integrating the color black and yellow to match their logo. The main goal was to make the report the same as the website as well, we had to make sure that all information in the report was in the website.
The goal for this project was to design an interactive form for an existing bakery shop, where the customers could order online. The design had to be consistent with their website, which why I incorporate light colours such as pink and grey to match their original website, simple tables and boxes. After designing it, we made it interactive in Adobe Acrobat
The objective of this form, was to design a simple and professional looking form. I’ve designed this form using lines, table, and check boxes to help the user to fill in the information clearly. I divided each sections with subtitles to identify what information is needed under that section.
